Irene Schiller is veterinarian and holds a doctorate degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Zurich, where she worked for more than 11 years. In 2007 she finished with a certificate of advanced studies at the Lucerne Business School. In 2010 she was appointed associate professor for Veterinary Public Health at the University of Bern.
She joined Prionics AG in 2002, where she drove the development of new business field (mainly bovine tuberculosis diagnostics). From 2008 to 2011 she held a position at the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office of Switzerland, Bern, as health program manager, head of research management and head of approval of veterinary diagnostics related to notifiable animal diseases. Irene Schiller is a co-founder of Malcisbo AG (2010), where she acted as CMO until mid 2020. The company develops carbohydrate-based vaccines. Since 2010 Irene Schiller is member of the Board of Directors of the WAVLD (World Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians). She currently works as expert for several national and international institutions.
